TSUGARU CHANNEL, JAPAN
The Tsugaru Channel (, Tsugaru Kaiky) is a strait in northern Japan that connects the Sea of Japan with the Pacific Ocean. It is located between the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido. It was given this name because it is located in the western part of Aomori Prefecture. The Seikan Tunnel, which runs between Tappi Misaki on the Tsugaru Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, Honshu, and Shirakami Misaki on the Matsumae Peninsula in Hokkaido, is the world’s narrowest tunnel, measuring 12.1 miles (19.5 kilometers) at its narrowest point.
The Strait of Sangar was also referred to as the Strait of Sangar on early Western maps, dating back to the nineteenth century.

About Event
A current called the Tsugaruda Current flows from the Sea of Japan to the Pacific Ocean. In this area, the winds, turbulence, and waves can be extremely high, and there’s also a lot of marine life, including a number of shark species including Great White Sharks.
To cross the Tsugaru channel, which is also known for its currents, you must put in a lot of effort.
Since 1990, only 52 swimmers from around the world have succeeded in crossing this epic channel, with Prabhat becoming the 30th successor of the Event in Japan.
