CATALINA CHANNEL (USA)
The Catalina Channel (USA), (technically known as the San Pedro Channel) is the waterway that separates Santa Catalina Island from the mainland of Southern California. It is 19.6 statute miles (31.6 kilometers) between Arrow Point on the island and Long Point in Rancho Palos Verdes to travel the shortest distance across the channel. Swimmers typically begin their journey from the beach at Doctor’s Cove, where they will complete a slightly longer swim of 20 miles.
The Catalina Channel Marathon Swim is one of the most historically significant and consistently popular marathons swims in the world, and it is a part of both the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Oceans Seven series of swimming events. George Young was the only person to complete the Wrigley Ocean Marathon, which took place in January 1927, and was the first person to swim across the channel.

About Event
Taking on the second challenge of the ocean7 challenge, Prabhat successfully completed the swim. The Catalina Channel is a part of the vast Pacific Ocean, which includes the island of Hawaii. Swimmers navigate this channel at night, which makes it more difficult; Prabhat navigated through a large number of marine creatures, and the main shipping lane of the United States passes through this section, necessitating greater caution.
Prabhat swam this channel in 10 hours and 30 minutes total.
