SWIMMING FEDERATION OF INDIA 69TH OPEN WATER LONG DISTANCE SWIM RACE 2012
The Swimming Federation of India (SFI) is India’s national governing body for water sports. It is legally a non-profit organization registered under the Law on the Registration of Western Bengal Societies of 1861. The Federation holds elections every four years for its office bearers. The SFI currently supervises swimming, master swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, high diving, and water pool competitions. It is a member of FINA and the Asian Swimming Federation (ASF).

About Event
Swimming Federation of India organized the world’s longest swimming competition in collaboration with Murshidabad Swimming Association and W.B. Swimming Association.
Prabhat was the youngest swimmer of the year (at the time, he was 13 years and 2 months old), and he completed an 81-kilometer swim in 12 hours and 42 minutes.
There is a one-sided flow of river water in this area. Swimming through different flows of the river can be difficult in certain sections where the river flows slowly, requiring tremendous patience on the part of the swimmer.
