MY 10YRS IN OPEN WATER SWIMMING
According to my, the personal definitions of open water swimming differ from person to person, and it’s swimming in natural waters if possibly not to or list disturbing nature & its natural creatures, its existence, etc. Today, many open water swimmers communities are practicing & refreshing, reenergizing, and strengthening the health bounds of life at natural water sources available. Read about My 10 Years in Open Water Swimming.
Open water long-distance swimming is impossible by injecting or forcing to swim long hours & several kilometers. Its passion for swimming required tremendous patience to accept & enjoy water conditions available through which have advanced towards desired destinations.
I am blessed & gifted as my passion for this rare sport in India was hunted by my coach & parents when I was 9-10yrs. They supported my passion, making me more comfortable while swimming in huge water bodies around the globe.
I swam my first swimming event in 2011 in Hoogly River & till today, I swam 34 swimming events; according to my knowledge, no one Indian swimmer is near to this tally. Among these 34 swims, I swam 17 swims in international waters again its max swim events swam by any Indian in International waters.
According to the Marathon swimming federation, The “Ten-Year Club” includes swimmers who completed a marathon swim (10km or longer) in at least ten different years (according to LongSwimsDB data). There are 262 swimmers around the world listed in this group.
Today I am 22yrs old; despite swimming events last 10yrs my name is not included in “Ten-YearClub” because the events I swam from 2011 to 2014 are in Indian waters organized by authorized swimming associations in India swimming events since long back before the formation of Marathon swimming federation. My Journey!
Open water swimming is not popular in India moreover I am staying in Mumbai; here swimming in open waters is impossible as the shores of the sea are polluted by sewage & other matters. It’s too difficult to avail swimming pool facility for practicing long hours. Open water swimming is a costly affair & my family belongs to a lower-middle-class family; this sport was unaffordable then.
Also, my parents supported me and provided finance to my swimming events by spending their savings & selling property assets; they did their job devotionally. My mother is always available with me whenever I am practicing in pools or open waters away from my home city; my father is servicing in the Research center, financer & manager of my swimming carrier. They are strong pillars of my swimming carrier.
